Resumo: This work addresses the life and work of Adelaide Cabete, an unique woman in Portugal. It deals with her role as an obstetrician and gynecologist, her work in the face of the needs of the working class, women, children, prenatal care and adolescent care. The political life of a woman ahead of her time, a feminist, a physician, writer, a republican, a suffragist, a hygienist, a publicist, a sociologist, a freemason, a socialist, a free-thinker and an educator, who was active in many Portuguese organizations, struggling to include women as full citizens.
