Os instrumentos de reconhecimento do real chamam-se História, a arte de construir a transformação chama- se Arquitectura." This dissertation focuses on an area in the parish of Vila de Prado which has as reference the N201 and N101 routes as axes of connection to Braga. The object of the study arises at the culmination of the intersection of these routes, which, in turn, delimits the area of intervention that extends to the Cávado river in the Northwest/Southeast direction. In the attitude of highlighting this axes and the connection of the village with the river, the intervention area in the study case also extends in another direction - Northeast / Southwest - , the opposite of the previously described that assumes the direction of Cávado river. The interest in reflecting on this particular village comes from familiarity and experience of living for many years in it and represents my family roots. The characteristics of this area, combined with the memory of what is relevant in the daily lives of the inhabitants of this village are fundamental to establish the bases for the development of the main focus of this work. Those also determine the principles for guiding the reformulation / restructuring and the interventions that are justified in order to recreate an identity, once assumed. As the main object of this work has both strengths and sensitivities, and in order to create spatial harmony and offer the people who live there better living conditions, it is mostly in the center and heart of the village where is more obvious the need for space renewal and reformulation of the problems faced and felt in everyday life.
