Resumo: This article aims to analyze the ESG standards and the Compliance in order to find out what benefits are brought by their application in small and medium-sized Brazilian companies, once these kinds of companies represent almost one third of the country’s gross domestic product. For this, legislative and regulatory research was carried out, as well as specialized production on the subject. In order to understand the phenomenon of the appreciation of the ESG, the Compliance and the reality of small and medium-sized Brazilian companies as a whole, it was necessary the use of analysis of the evolution of institutes and good practices carried out in the business field.

Para isso, foi realizada pesquisa legislativa e regulatória, bem como de produção acadêmica especializada sobre o assunto.
