Resumo: | This study aimed at identifying the potential and to investigate the main problems of the introduction of distance education in the Instituto Superior de Ciências da Educação of Huíla, Angola, taking into account the main institutional, pedagogical, technological and operational aspects. In the theoretical framework, we sought to systematize the relevance of the concept of distance education in the context of higher education in Africa, focusing mainly on Angola. From the methodological point of view, two procedures were adopted: the “Case Study”, since we intended to diagnose the current state of distance education at the Instituto Superior de Ciências da Educação of Huíla; And “action research”, given the ambition to propose an educational offer in the form of distance education that would allow us to understand, on the ground, how this modality would be accepted by the institution and the students. Overall, we came to the conclusion that there is a need for the institution to define policies and responsibilities regarding the distance education modality. Based on the results achieved, it is planned to create strategies for the development of distance education in this institution, taking into account the training of teachers and students, technological conditions and the construction of communication infrastructures that enable the implementation of distance education with support TIC. |

Le cadre théorique, nous essayons de systématiser la pertinence du concept de l’enseignement à distance dans le cadre de l’enseignement supérieur en Afrique, en se concentrant principalement sur l’Angola. D’un point de vue méthodologique ont été adoptées deux procédures: la « étude de cas », car nous voulions diagnostiquer l’état actuel de eduação la distance à l’Institut supérieur des sciences de l’éducation de Huila; et « recherche-action », compte tenu de l’ambition de proposer une offre éducative dans l’éducation du mode de distance qui permet de comprendre, sur le terrain, comment cette méthode serait acceptée par l’institution et les étudiants. Sur le plan mondial, nous avons conclu qu’il est nécessaire de l’institution définir des politiques et des responsabilités en matière d’éducation du mode distance. Sur la base des résultats obtenus perspective la création de stratégies pour le développement de l’enseignement à distance dans cette institution, en tenant compte de la formation des enseignants et des étudiants, des conditions technologiques et la construction des infrastructures de communication pour permettre la mise en oeuvre de l’enseignement à distance avec le soutien des TIC.Este estudo teve como finalidade identificar o potencial e averiguar os principais problemas da introdução da educação a distância no Instituto Superior de Ciências de Educação da Huíla, em Angola, tendo em atenção as principais vertentes desta problemática: institucional, pedagógica, tecnológica e operacional. No enquadramento teórico, procuramos sistematizar a relevância do conceito de educação a distância no contexto do ensino superior em África, tendo como foco principal Angola. Do ponto de vista metodológico foram adotados dois procedimentos: o “Estudo de Caso”, uma vez que pretendíamos diagnosticar o estado atual da educação a distância no Instituto Superior de Ciências da Educação da Huíla; e a “Investigação-ação”, dada a ambição de propor uma oferta educativa na modalidade de educação a distância que permitisse compreender, no terreno, de que forma esta modalidade seria aceite pela instituição e pelos estudantes. De uma forma global, chegamos à conclusão que há necessidade da instituição definir políticas e responsabilidades em relação à modalidade de educação a distância.
