Resumo: The theme of this Thesis is the housing for all, observed and considered from a number of different angles, which look to show how it is possible to use humanistic characterful architecture in housing, concerned about social issues and prioritizing the necessities of those who are going to occupy said structures. The problem is set from the identification of a number of aspects associated to housing production processes which, not taking into consideration the negative consequences of 'instant' design and that of repetition of several elements, and at the same time, devaluing the innovative potential of shared politics and housing with the ability to grow, leads us to a lack of identification by the masses with housing solutions and, as a consequence, the urban, social and economical problems from which these occur. Mainly it is the inhabitants of underdeveloped countries or those who are in the growth process that suffer the most from housing politics that do not fulfil their needs. The Latin-American continent, therefore, had a very strong influence on my reason for choosing this theme to this dissertation. We decided to focus our work on looking for alternative strategies that, once applied to the housing production in countries such as Chile or Peru, may provide the study of new methods and new ways of housing production, more adapted to the characteristics of the emerging communities. In this work, the research for said alternative strategies was made by calling on a very specific group of authors, having had the necessity of innovating the post modern housing production, developed theoretical and practical solutions of which, throughout this dissertation, we have used to help us find several motivational points of reference. These points of reference reflect our vision of the contemporary production of mass housing, consisting of small projectual details, which we believe were pertinent and opportune to considerate in mass housing projects. Highlighting with great importance the need to understand the way in which these projectual details may be applied in large scales without being repeated, and how this pattern of certain elements makes a dignified house, accessible to all.
