Nursing intervention in the transition to palliative care: a scoping review

The transition to palliative care should not be underestimated. Nurses should become facilitators of the palliative care transition. However, data submitted to implementations during the transition are scattered in the literature. Objective: To map interventions implemented by nurses during the transition to palliative care. Review Method: Scoping review following the Joanna Briggs Institute methodology. One independent reviewer analyzed the relevance of the studies and extracted and synthesized data. Presentation and interpretation of results: Six studies were included in the review. The interventions implemented by nurses’ concern communication, capacity, coping, emotions and continuity of care. Conclusion: The interventions implemented by nurses described in the studies differ among themselves. Further studies should be conducted to identify the interventions implemented by nurses during the transition to palliative care.
