This article deals with the way the Holy Scriptures conceive the human being. In order to do this, and in view of the extent and magnitude of the biblical text, we begin with the two accounts of creation presented at the beginning of the book of Genesis (cf. Gen 1,1ss). According to these, we highlight the meaning of the main identity characteristics of the human being created by God. Thus, we emphasize the fundamental dimension of the human being, created in the image and likeness of God, which has to do with being a being of communion. In reality, the human being is a communion between two others, the feminine and the masculine, unique, complementary, equal and sacred capable of fulfillment, evolution and generation, in an ecological open system moved by the Spirit that created them and recreates them from their innate and acquired disposition.
