Within social studies of science and technology, it should be taken into account the study of knowledge that remain in the Andean rural communities, and especially those related to the activity that dominates daily life: agriculture. Added to this is the concern of whether these communities’ agriculture is sustainable due to their knowledge and method of education and to knowledge transmission within these populations. In this sense the recovery of local knowledge can have a positive effect on environmental conservation. This work is also an approach to the relationship between self-knowledge of local communities and the actions being taken by communities to address the climate change process. The aim is to study the reflection made by societies or groups of local people to defend their own experiences based on their own knowledge, which includes the students’ mainstream education. As a practical case study, we hereby present the so called “Agro-festive Calendars “. These experiences allow us to analyze the relationships between technical development of the communities and their culture.
