Resumo: | The design process of the space has changed throughout history, reflecting the knowledge of each period. If we cannot imagine the renascence architecture without the perspective's discovery, we can understand less the Corbusier's proposals without the Industrial Revolution or the invention of machine. In the same way, our way of living and perceiving things is changing continuously, caused by the new physics' discovers about quantic particles, by chemical manipulations of materials' properties or by the new emerge of the digital technologies (microprocessors, sensors and touchscreens). More than introducing changes in the design methodologies, computer and the digital tools, when associated with the robotic fabrication, open a new stage in the architecture practice. The way we design and build has changed, new ideas and concepts emerge giving '(...)an ideia of space that still does not yet exist completely (...)' however it's ' one that we beguin to intuit and beguin to shape.'1 Social, cultural, energetic and environmental realities are changing also. From this perspective, this goal of this work of investigation is to enquire into the role of architecture in this contemporary paradigm that we're living in. It exams the concepts of movement, adaptability, transformation, interaction and intelligence of the built space with its users and the surrounding environment in order to permit adequate responses to the variation of special and functional needs. New perspectives are showed, new systems which can give the ability of physical changes to the building, by changing illumination, ventilation, energy saving or by the space's reconfiguration. One search for a more intelligent architecture in order to bring a better sustainability and to prolong the building's life. |
