Covid-19 triggered an unprecedented pandemic state in the world. The evolution of knowledge on the SARS-CoV-2 has evoked the curiosity of researchers from different areas that address changes and challenges of current and future proclivity. However, this knowledge is dispersed, calling for a need to identify existing lacunae. The new labor reality resulting from this Pandemic made the scientific community study its effects on the professional and personal lives of workers. Since physical and psychological exhaustion combined with permanent stress at work tend to lead to the development of work-related illnesses such as Burnout, the search for strategies to deal with the syndrome under the current circumstances became urgent. The relevance of this work is directly associated with its objective: to present a bibliometric analysis of scientific work related to Burnout in two distinct moments: (1) before the surge of Covid-19; and (2) after its appearance; in order to verify its influence on the study of the subject. With this is mind, a comparative bibliometric analysis of the literature produced in the period from 2015 to 2019, and from January 2020 to June 2021 was carried out, focusing only on articles published in English and indexed using Scopus. The carried-out study contemplated articles that contained the word “burnout” in the title, abstract or keywords. To formulate the descriptive analysis of results, R Software and corresponding Bibliometrix codes were used, more specifically, Biblioshiny. A sample of 12081 publications was analyzed and the results indicated an exponential growth in the annual scientific production on Burnout articles after the appearance of Covid-19. From 2020 onwards, the keyword “Covid-19” appears immediately after “Burnout”, showing a direct relationship between them. The USA and China remain, even after the Covid-19 outbreak, the most interested countries and with most citations on the theme. Countries in Europe, such as Spain and Italy, stand out among those that suffered most from the effects of the virus and showed most interested in the study of Burnout. On the other hand, not all countries most affected by Covid-19 focused their efforts on studying Burnout in the face of the new reality, such as India, Brazil and France. Future bibliometric studies on the influence of Covid-19 on the topic are recommended, in order to obtain updated information and to analyze other relevant indicators on this subject.2021-12-03info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesishttp://hdl.handle.net/10316/99309http://hdl.handle.net/10316/99309TID:202963713porMatos, Maria Inês Britoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Repositório Científico de Acesso Aberto de Portugal (Repositórios Cientìficos)instname:Agência para a Sociedade do Conhecimento (UMIC) - FCT - Sociedade da Informaçãoinstacron:RCAAP2022-05-25T04:23:06Zoai:estudogeral.uc.pt:10316/99309Portal AgregadorONGhttps://www.rcaap.pt/oai/openaireopendoar:71602024-03-19T21:16:57.130779Repositório Científico de Acesso Aberto de Portugal (Repositórios Cientìficos) - Agência para a Sociedade do Conhecimento (UMIC) - FCT - Sociedade da Informaçãofalse |
