Ensaio para uma cartografia de cenários urbanos. A rua da Galeria de Paris na contemporaneidade

Essay for a cartography of urban sceneries' concretizes a study process about the urban conditions, architectural and urbanistic, in analogy to the sociocultural contingencies, experiences and practices, in rua da Galeria de Paris. Through an investigation and reflection methodology, it's developed a theoretical-practical approach that is based on a 'historical research' between Paris and Oporto, and on a 'territory study' in zona das Carmelitas. For that purpose, it's explored the occupation and appropriation process inherent to the 'Ferros Velhos' (1702-1888), the urbanization and construction process of the 'Bairro', in Marques da Silva time (1902-1919), and the intervention and transformation of the 'Quarteirão', in scope of 'European Capital of Culture' (1997-2001). "(...) the past knowledge value to the present context (...)" 3. With basis on modern and contemporary episodes, it's approached the spatial and sociocultural dimensions underlying the urban sceneries that it was observed and noted in rua da Galeria de Paris between 2016 e 2017. Thus, it's explored the compositions and the configurations in the exterior context, in which it's considered the several occupations and appropriations in urban space towards the activities, the dynamics and the uses in the quotidian panorama. Trough the author's photographs and schematics, it's mapped the 'day days', the 'Família desce à rua days', the 'night days', the 'S. João days', and the 'botellón days' that defines the common and/or exceptional character of the Oporto street. "(...) paraphrasing Deleuze 'to each system of representation can be assigned a different organizational capacity of the world' (...)".
