With the rise of global warming and increased awareness of environmentalism, sustainable palm oil production is paramount. In 2004, RSPO (Roundtable Sustainable Palm Oil) was created to fulfill the need for environmentally friendly and sustainable practices being implemented in palm oil plantation, while also making it viable for growers. This work is a result of a 6 months internship in Agripalma that had the objective of assisting the company to obtain and implement the RSPO certification following the 2018 Principles and Criteria (P&C). The first step of the work was to identify which criteria were already in place and being implemented and which were missing by conducting a general overview of the plantation in the field and by going through all available documentation. After the general assessment was complete, it was observed that most criteria were already being implemented in the field but lacked procedural documentation and training as evidence that the criteria were being implemented. As a result, a great number of procedural and management plans were written based on the reality of what happens in the plantation. The second step was to provide adequate training to all HOD (Heads of Department), staff and field workers on all the procedures that were written. In this dissertation, the author explains the logistical part of this operation and the strategies that were chosen. To achieve the RSPO certification, external studies, such as HCV (High Conservation Value) were conducted in the plantation and Agripalma had to follow through with the recommendations. This work aims to shed light on what is necessary to do to obtain the RSPO certification and to demonstrate how the company overcame the challenges that emerged during the implementation process.Nas últimas décadas, a produção de óleo de palma ganhou uma reputação negativa relativamente a questões ambientais. Com o aumento do aquecimento global e uma maior consciencialização ambiental, a produção sustentável de óleo de palma é fundamental. Em 2004, foi criada a plataforma RSPO (“Roundtable Sustainable Palm Oil”) a fim de satisfazer a necessidade de práticas ambientais e sustentáveis implementadas nas plantações de óleo de palma, permitindo também, a sua viabilidade para os produtores. Este trabalho é o resultado de um estágio de 6 meses na empresa Agripalma cujo objetivo, visava ajudar a obtenção da certificação RSPO, seguindo os Princípios e Critérios (P&C) de 2018. O primeiro passo do trabalho foi identificar quais os critérios que já estavam a ser implementados e/ou em fase de implementação, e quais os que faltavam implementar. Este estudo foi feito através da realização de uma avaliação geral da plantação no terreno e análise da documentação disponível. Após a avaliação geral, observou-se que a maioria dos critérios já estavam a ser implementados no campo, faltando, contudo, a documentação processual e a formação dos colaboradores, como prova de que os critérios estavam a ser implementados. Como consequência, um grande número de planos processuais e de gestão foram escritos. O segundo passo foi fornecer a formação adequada a todos os membros da empresa sobre todos os procedimentos que estavam a ser escritos. Nesta dissertação, é explicada a parte logística desta operação e as estratégias que foram escolhidas. Para obter a certificação RSPO, foram realizados estudos externos, tais como o HCV (Alto Valor de Conservação) na plantação e a Agripalma teve de adotar as recomendações.
