Resumo: | Contrary to the principles which for centuries governed the logic of growth of urban centers based in compression, in proximity, in limits more or less accurate, in a clear separation between urban and rural and in centrality, it's possible to verify that most of the spatiality organization of the city known today profound changes. The loss of boundaries and shape change, the emergence of new centralities, the new scale of urban territories and the appearance/abundance of voids in the territory are, in fact, the main features/uncertainties that the contemporary city presents. If on the one hand the development of cities was always aware of changes in technology and science, demonstrated, for example, by rapid urban and social changes causes by the introduction of new technologies in transport, communication and information during the Industrial Revolution period, on the other, the intense urban changes visible now are, in the same way, the result of the strong technological revolution now under way, particularly regarding with the progress of mobility technologies. One of the hallmarks of our age is, undoubtedly, the way today's society live. The current spread of new technological means, in the area of transports and communication, inseparable from today's social revolution, tends to trigger in the population a greater need for communication, varied mobilities, a greater freedom in the choice of housing location and social activities, and increasingly differentiated, complex and individualizes lifestyles, which represent, in essence, the logics that prompted the current fragmented, diffuse and extensive image of the city. Most of the problems that humanity is facing nowadays (the absence of citizenship, environmental pollution, lack of resources, corruption), is, in general, related to the arbitrary and uncontrolled explosion of cities and to the erratic principles that gave rise to its expansion. The issues related to transports/mobility and Housing (diversity of ways of occupying the contemporary territory), will be the key points to reshaping the values, the ideals and the tools that will allow to draw (think) more defined, cohesive and sustainable cities for the happy living of Man. |
