Resumo: The present dissertation aims to contribute to understand territorial dynamics, their consequent urban transformations and associated phenomena. Both of them can be progressively observed in the Portuguese territory and specifically in the study case: Algarve's street road EN125. An analysis of the road as urbanization device is proposed in this study: enable a reading of Algarve's urban reality and a consciousness of it's Emergent forms, as well as submit their specificities and the uniqueness conferred on it by the strong and intrusive presence of the tourism phenomenon, comparatively to other Portuguese roads. In resume, an integrative view of the road as part of extensive urbanization generator is proposed, as a city generator, with the multiplicity, simultaneity of functions, types and signs present in each single city.
