British American tobacco equity research - a story of short-term opportunity vs. long-term uncertainty

Resumo: This Work Project(Field Lab) presents an equity valuation of British American Tobacco Plc., the London based manufacturer of cigarettes, tobacco, and additional nicotine products. We therefore give an overview of the current tobacco market (including NGPs) and identify market drivers in the combustible as well as NGP segment. Our analysis suggests that the company is currently under valued, and we set a target share price at £35.We adjust our DCF model through an ESG assessment towards the market-based valuation. Thus, we developed our own ESG Scoreboard to account for all ESG related material issues. The scoring results are applied into our scenario analysis, as well as our revenue forecast, and cost of capital.
