Resumo: This paper analyses the devotional phenomenon that occurred around S. João Marcos, through the eighteenth century, in the hospital church with the same name, under Misericórdia de Braga administration, encharging the procedures carried out by brotherhood in the promotion, organization and management of celebrations and festivities associated to it´s cult. We will study the two festivities organized in honor of the Saint, wich took place in april and september, highlighting the efforts promoted by Santa Casa towards enhancing and solemnizing them. At the same time, we will look into the role played by Misericórdia de Braga, as stage of sociabilities and promotion of moments of cohesion between the brotherhood and the surrounding social environment.

João Marcos, ao longo do século XVIII, na igreja do hospital com o mesmo nome, sob a administração da Misericórdia de Braga, realçando os procedimentos levados a cabo pela confraria na promoção, organização e gestão das celebrações e festividades ligadas ao seu culto. Estudaremos as duas festas organizadas em honra do Santo, que tinham lugar em abril e em setembro, destacando as diligências promovidas pela Santa Casa no sentido de as engrandecer e solenizar.
