Resumo: | The essential relationship between war and pluralist democracies was defined by Kant in his thesis on the possibility of perpetual peace between the Republican princes. However, democracies are not pacific and continue to wage war against autocracies. In this context, three additional propositions regarding Republican forms of war can be put forward. The first proposition is that democracies find it very difficult to enter into war and also to bring their intervention to an end. The second proposition states that democracies have proved to be incapable of engaging in war with moderation. The third proposition is that democracies insist on a change in the political regime of the States against whom they wage war as a form of legitimizing their military intervention. |

Três proposições sobre a guerra e a democraciaThe essential relationship between war and pluralist democracies was defined by Kant in his thesis on the possibility of perpetual peace between the Republican princes.
