Resumo: The purpose of this thesis is to study the relationship between work and place in Portuguesesports facilities - football stadiums. The analyses of five Portuguese sports facilities, aims tounderstand and deepen the topological and morphological dialogue in the interpretation of themeaning of place as the main theme of the design.The sports facilities analysed are Estádio do Jamor, Lisbon (1944), Estádio 1.º de Maio, Braga(1950), Estádio do Restelo, Lisbon (1956), Estádio Municipal de Guimarães, Guimarães (1965)and Estádio Municipal de Braga, Braga (2003), by means of an analytical grid that structures thethemes to be studied.
