O objetivo deste trabalho foi realizar uma revisão da literatura sobre o tratamento da superfície implantar. A implantologia tem evoluído muito e a procura por novas superfícies que promovam uma maior osteointegração e um melhor resultado a longo prazo associado com um menor tempo de espera pela reabilitação tem sido o principal enfoque atualmente. Os artigos revistos neste trabalho têm demonstram que o tratamento de superfície SLA e as suas modificações estão entre os tratamentos mais estudados e os que apresentam os melhores resultados clínicos. Entretanto outros tratamentos de superfície têm apresentado resultados promissores que podem permitir que novas opções de tratamento de superfície a permitir osteointegração em um menor tempo, assim como melhores resultados em áreas de osso de baixa qualidade, em que outros tratamentos de superfície não apresentam bons resultados.The implant surface treatment has received a lot of attention in recent years, allowing an evolution in modern implantology, allowing the implantation of patients or areas that previously would have a doubtful clinical outcome, or accelerating the treatment in areas with good bone quality. The objective of this work was to conduct a literature review on the implant surface treatment. Implantology has evolved a lot and the search for new surfaces that promote greater osteointegration and a better long-term result associated with a shorter waiting time for rehabilitation has been the main focus today.
