Resumo: | Emancipatory education became an important notion for critical pedagogues from the sixties and seventies of the 20th century onwards. Various ‘old masters’ then inspired educationalists with their interpretation of this concept. Today, times have profoundly changed. The question now is whether these interpretations are still valid. Is there a need to reconsider them? To what extent are the ideas of ‘the old masters’ still useful? What elements are outdated? Six contributions engage with these questions reminding us of the ideas of Paulo Freire, John Dewey, Bruno Latour, Ivan Illich, Jacques Rancière and Axel Honneth. |

La pregunta ahora es si estas interpretaciones siguen siendo válidas. ¿Es necesario reconsiderarlos? ¿Hasta qué punto siguen siendo útiles las ideas de los 'viejos maestros'? ¿Qué elementos están desactualizados? Seis contribuciones abordan estas preguntas que nos recuerdan las ideas de Paulo Freire, John Dewey, Bruno Latour, Ivan Illich, Jacques Rancière y Axel Honneth.A educação emancipatória tornou-se um conceito importante para os pedagogos críticos a partir dos anos de 1960 e 1970. Diferentes ‘velhos mestres’ nesses tempos inspiraram autores da área da educação com a sua interpretação do conceito em causa. Hoje, os tempos mudaram profundamente. A questão neste momento é se essas interpretações são ainda válidas. É necessário reconsiderar essas interpretações? Em que medida as ideias dos ‘velhos mestres’ ainda são úteis? Que ideias caíram em desuso?
