The present Dissertation is focused on the case study of Monóptero de São Gonçalo, situated in Quinta Nova on the limits of Penas Róias, Mogadouro. The temple built between the XVI and XVIII centuries, is presented with a complex layout that is a reflection of its surroundings and constructive motivations, although there isn't a complete study on the function/devotion, references and year of construction. With a circular plan and accompanied by two oaks, a ruined building and a stream, the small temple transcends the landscape through unique components that make it memorable and worthy of study. In view of this, an analysis is proposed that goes beyond the limits of the visible, alternating between architectural and symbolic questions of the small temple that marks the landscape of Trás-os-Montes, and that takes the observer on an enigmatic journey. This analysis is based on an initial survey, not only metric but visual and sensory, which allows the recreation of the celebratory feeling experienced intrinsic to the construction.
