Resumo: This article specifies the design, the prototyping and the validation processes of a mobile application in order to support young people with Trisomy 21 in their functional daily activities. In this case study, a simulated supermarket scenario was explored with a mobile touch device (iPad®). To validate the prototype, three sessions were implemented and conducted in a two-week period, instantiated in times (moments) of Pre-event; Event and Post-event. These sessions were video recorded for subsequent content analysis. All data collection techniques sustained a qualitative paradigm. The findings of this study allowed us to validate a formal model of structuring activities according to the hierarchy "scenario / event / task". The instantiation of the moments (Pre-event; Event and Post-event) enabled us to test the context of the tasks with prior and subsequent activities to each event, revealing itself as an important learning strategy in the field of Special Education Needs.
