Resumo: [Excerpt] INTRODUCTION Following a vibrant and energetic campaign, on the 18th of September 2014, the Scots have decided to stay within the United Kingdom by a margin of 55,3% against 44,7%. Subsequently, on the 19th of September 2014, David Cameron has established the Smith Commission as part of the response to “The Vow” published on the Daily Record, two days before the Scottish referendum. With a turnout of over 84%, the question of Scottish independence has probably been put to rest for years to come, but a new political debate on the constitutional future of Scotland and of the United Kingdom (UK) has been unfolded.
