Resumo: Abstract Objectives: To determine the prevalence of lesions associated with the maxillary bone biopsied from patients assisted at the Reference Centre for Oral Injuries of the State University of Feira de Santana (CRLB - UEFS) from 2006 to 2017, identifying the three most frequent lesions and their clinical characteristics. Methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out to evaluate all the histopathological reports of the last 11 years that included a histopathological diagnosis of bone lesions of the maxilla preconized by the WHO (2017), as well as data on patients, such as gender, age, histopathological diagnosis, and anatomical location. The collected information was input into tables using Microsoft Office Excel Professional Plus Software (2013). Results: 65 conclusive reports were found for bone lesions of the maxilla, with a prevalence of 0.03. The mean age was 45.2 years, and the female gender and the posterior region of the mandible were the most affected. Conclusions: The most frequent lesions were cemento-osseous dysplasia, fibrous dysplasia, and ossifying fibroma.
