The construction of an identity, from the world of images to the conception of the real is a journey through the imaginary museums of some architects, brought to light by Valerio Olgiati related to the invitation of David Chipperfield to integrate the 13th Venice Biennale of Architecture which had its outcome in the exhibition Pictographs - Statement of Contemporary Architects. Aware of the fact that architecture is today made with images - from images -we try to reflect on the importance they assume in the architect's work methodology(s). Reflecting on these images, on their role, discovering the reason for conceiving and illuminating the passage from the world of images to the world of ideas, which support the construction of an architecture, is the intention of this dissertation.Thus, we try to build a thought around the design process, in order to understand how architects deal with it, through expectations, desires and distances and how the reality is constructed from the images they keep in their memory and call for architectural design, sometimes consciously, other times unconsciously. Still realizing how each project materializes a certain strategy to work with this dense place, this investigation is an invitation to dive into the deep and enigmatic world of the creative imagination that touches on the very peculiar and unforeseeable path of memory. In an attempt to reveal the worlds that each architect closes, recovering the depth of things and bringing to light the invisible side of architecture, which informs the artistic practice of each one, ultimately, these images, reveal the identity of its author, showing the roots of its architecture.
