Resumo: | This paper aims at explaining the model of development and implementation of creative Tourism. The case study focuses on the Galo de Barcelos, which is one of the symbols of national tourism and identity heritage of the territory of Barcelos. It is argued that the productive process of co-creation of creative tourist experiences, accordingly to this model, is carried out through the Interpretation of tourist destinations. In the scope of the research methodology, qualitative and quantitative methods, namely interviews with 32 subjects related to Tourism in this territory, and questionnaires to 438 of its visitors, as well as a review of the literature and an analysis of documents relevant to this study. In conclusion, this model presents an innovation by developing a productive process of co-creation, which enriches the quality of creative tourist experiences through the Interpretation of destinations. |

O estudo de caso foca-se no Galo de Barcelos, que é um dos símbolos do Turismo nacional e património identitário do território barcelense. Argumenta-se que o processo produtivo de cocriação de experiências turísticas criativas, no âmbito deste modelo, realiza-se através da Interpretação dos destinos turísticos. Relativamente à metodologia de investigação foram utilizados métodos qualitativos e quantitativos, designadamente entrevistas a 32 sujeitos relacionados com o Turismo, neste território, e inquéritos por questionário a 438 dos seus visitantes, para além de uma revisão da literatura e uma análise a documentos relevantes para este estudo.
