Resumo: This stage report is divided essentially into two parts. The first, the Arbitration Centre where I did my internship is presented (ARBITRARE) following a brief discussion about the importance of the legal representation in arbitration, with reference to the processes that took place in ARBITRARE. The second part deals with the debate on the rule n. º 6 of the IBA Guidelines on party representation, under which it is permitted to the arbitral tribunal to exclude the party representative from participating in all or part of the arbitral proceedings. In this context, I will try to include the application of the mentioned rule in the Portuguese legal system.
