Esta análise histórica do período da abertura da televisão à iniciativa privada aborda ainda a questão da televisão da Igreja, que marca também a década; a questão do Estado na sua relação com a televisão e o espectro radioeléctrico enquanto instrumentos do sistema político-partidário e de governo; o enquadramento do “cavaquismo” na sua relação com a TV; e finalmente, em contexto conclusivo, uma abordagem da emergência da TV privada em Portugal e das suas consequências, neste caso à luz dos estudos de Nelson Traquina referidos na bibliografia, procurando reequacionar a conhecimento sobre o período e o respectivo estado da arte. This study integrates a historical-political characterization of the emergence of the Portuguese conservative-liberal bloc “Aliança Democrática” (1979-1983) with an analysis of the news and television programming, emphasizing the early 1980s and the television public service's dependence on a political majority.
