Industrial archaeology and museology of wolfram mining. An introductory approach

Resumo: After explaining wh.at the notions of "industrial archaeology" and "new museology" mean, there is an attempt to show the importance of both notions as knowledge areas and cultural technologies. Afterwards, the Portuguese universe of wolfram mining is briefly characterised and the importance of assuring the preservation, study, revitalisation and critical analysis of this global social reality is also focused on. For this purpose, many combined strategies are proposed: safeguard of written but not printed, graphic and material documentation, collection of oral testimonies, creation of museological structures, promotion of cultural tourism, environmental recovery and economic revitalisation/diversification of the mining areas.

Ensuite, on caractérise succinctement l'univers portugais de l'activité minière du wolfram et on défend l'importance d'assurer la préservation, l'étude, la revitalisation et l'analyse critique de cette realité sociale globale. Pour cela, on propose de diverses stratégies conjuguées: la sauvegarde de la documentation écrite non imprimée, graphique et matérielle, la collection de témoignages oraux, la création de structures muséologiques, la promotion du tourisme culturel, la récuperation de I 'environnement et la revitalisation/diversification économique des zones minières.Depois de explicitar o que se entende pelas noções de "arqueologia industrial" e de "nova museologia", procura demonstrar-se a relevância de ambas enquanto áreas de conhecimento e tecnologias culturais. Caracteriza-se, em seguida, de forma sumária, o universo português da mineração do volfrâmio e defende-se a importância de assegurar a preservação, estudo, revivenciação e análise crítica daquela realidade social global.
