The objective of this article was to determine the impact on commerce based on the lighting level of public lighting on Boulevard de Viche. The applied methodology was of a qualitative type, of a documentary nature, with bibliographic design; the method used was analysis and synthesis. The study units were 20 articles, theses, digital books; The unit of analysis was 05 bibliographic sources because specifically, they are considered the most suitable for obtaining the data of interest; documentary observation, data recording and electronic files. For the analysis of the information, content analysis was used. Results: the variables for the lighting of an urban street and highway cost criteria, lighting level, efficiency, uniformity factor and glare. In addition, for the design of public and ornamental lighting, the CIE-115 standards and the standards specified in ITC are used; Finally, lighting improves the quality of life of each of the neighbors directly and indirectly benefited. Conclusion: public lighting for the service provided to illuminate roads and public spaces of free circulation, must be managed by territorial or governmental entities; In addition, it is important to understand the needs of the community in the areas that are evaluated, both during field visits and in reviewing the designs of public lighting projects, since the community is the one that will use these projects when they are executed.
