Resumo: The objective of this study was: to analyze the current state of energy efficiency in the transportation and storage of gas at the Monteverde Terminal. Methodology: The type of research was developed on the basis of the qualitative approach, under a bibliographical and documentary research. The method used was the inductive one. The population consisted of 30 documents grouped into theses/articles/books, among others, obtained online, in the Google Scholar databases, indexed journals; digital libraries of national and international universities, web pages of official organizations, such as IDB, World Bank, WTO, OMI, Petroecuador, among others. The sample was made up of seven (07) documentary sources whose contribution and importance were considered the most valuable for this investigation. The results obtained are processed through the analysis matrix with parameters that the researchers take based on strategic criteria such as pertinence, relevance, year of publication, language, and others. Results: Observing the results, there are few investigations that have determined how the issue of energy efficiency is in the Monteverde Terminal. Conclusion: Energy efficiency is configured as a key element to achieve the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere from the maritime sector that surrounds the Monteverde terminal, since it points to energy savings and a change in the matrix for more efficient alternatives. clean, for sustainable development in the country that is already on this path.

Metodología: El tipo de investigación se desarrolló sobre la base del enfoque cualitativo, bajo una investigación de corte bibliográfico y documental. El método empleado fue el inductivo. La población estuvo conformada por 30 documentos agrupados en tesis/artículos/libros, entre otros, obtenidos vía online, en las bases de datos de Google Académico, revistas indexadas; bibliotecas digitales de universidades nacionales e internacionales, páginas web de organismos oficiales, como BID, Banco Mundial, OMC, OMI, Petroecuador, entre otros. La muestra quedó constituida por siete (07) fuentes documentales cuyo aporte e importancia se consideraron como los más valiosos para esta indagación. Los resultados obtenidos, se procesan a través de la matriz de análisis con parámetros que los investigadores toman en función de criterios estratégicos como pertinencia, relevancia, año de publicación, idioma, otros. Resultados: Al observar los resultados se tiene que son escasas las investigaciones que han determinado acerca de cómo está el tema de la eficiencia energética en el Terminal Monteverde. Conclusión: La eficiencia energética se configura como un elemento clave para lograr la disminución de emanaciones de gases de efecto invernadero a la atmosfera provenientes del sector marítimo que arropa al terminal Monteverde, dado que apunta al ahorro energético y a un cambio en la matriz por alternativas más limpias, para un desarrollo sustentable en el país que ya transita por esa vía.O objetivo deste estudo foi: analisar o estado atual da eficiência energética no transporte e armazenamento de gás no Terminal de Monteverde. Metodologia: O tipo de pesquisa foi desenvolvido com base na abordagem qualitativa, mediante pesquisa bibliográfica e documental. O método utilizado foi o indutivo. A população foi composta por 30 documentos agrupados em teses/artigos/livros, entre outros, obtidos online, nas bases de dados Google Acadêmico, periódicos indexados; bibliotecas digitais de universidades nacionais e internacionais, páginas web de organismos oficiais, como BID, Banco Mundial, OMC, OMI, Petroecuador, entre outros. A amostra foi composta por sete (07) fontes documentais cuja contribuição e importância foram consideradas as mais valiosas para esta investigação. Os resultados obtidos são processados ​​por meio da matriz de análise com parâmetros que os pesquisadores tomam com base em critérios estratégicos como pertinência, relevância, ano de publicação, idioma, entre outros. Resultados: Observando os resultados, são poucas as investigações que determinaram como está a questão da eficiência energética no Terminal de Monteverde.
