Perception of the incidence of the contents of community radios in the framework of sustainability and human development: case analysis in Ecuador

Resumo: The objective of this research is to determine the perception of the population regarding the contribution of the community radios of the Guaranda canton, Salinas parish, for the construction of sustainability and human development at the parish level, taking as a sample the community radio Salinerito during the year 2017. The research was carried out framed in a qualitative and quantitative approach with participatory methods and techniques, for the work with the audiences from the focus groups and the application of questionnaires, with descriptive character and based on the critical analysis of the content and communication strategies, used by the radio under study. All this allowed for a comparative analysis between community and private radio stations, as premises to determine whether community media have a greater or lesser impact on human development and sustainability (understand a scaffolding that includes the social, economic, political and cultural) from the messages and content broadcast, compared to private radios. As a result, it is considered a proposal of guidelines that can be considered by community radio stations for the promotion of human development and sustainability taking into account the reality of each territory.

As a result, it is considered a proposal of guidelines that can be considered by community radio stations for the promotion of human development and sustainability taking into account the reality of each territory.La presente investigación tiene como objetivo fundamental, determinar la percepción de la población en cuanto al aporte de las radios comunitarias del cantón Guaranda, parroquia Salinas, para la construcción de la sostenibilidad y el desarrollo humano a nivel parroquial, tomando como muestra, la radio comunitaria Salinerito durante el año 2017. La investigación se realizó enmarcada en un enfoque cualitativo y cuantitativo, con métodos y técnicas participativas, para el trabajo con las audiencias desde los grupos focales y la aplicación de cuestionarios, con carácter descriptivo y fundamentado en el análisis crítico de los contenidos y estrategias comunicacionales, empleadas por la radio en estudio. Todo ello permitió realizar un análisis comparativo entre las radios comunitarias y privadas, como premisas para determinar si los medios comunitarios inciden, mayor o menormente, en el desarrollo humano y la sostenibilidad (entiéndase un andamiaje que comprende lo social, lo económico, lo político y lo cultural) desde los mensajes y contenidos emitidos, comparado con las radios privadas. Como resultados, se considera una propuesta de lineamientos que pueden ser considerados por las radios comunitarias para la promoción del desarrollo humano y la sostenibilidad, tomando en cuenta la realidad de cada territorio.The objective of this research is to determine the perception of the population regarding the contribution of the community radios of the Guaranda canton, Salinas parish, for the construction of sustainability and human development at the parish level, taking as a sample the community radio Salinerito during the year 2017. O principal objetivo desta pesquisa é determinar a percepção da população sobre a contribuição das rádios comunitárias do cantão de Guaranda, freguesia de Salinas, para a construção da sustentabilidade e desenvolvimento humano ao nível paroquial, tomando como amostra a rádio comunitária Salinerito durante o ano de 2017. A pesquisa foi realizada dentro de uma abordagem qualitativa e quantitativa com métodos e técnicas participativas, para trabalhar com os públicos dos grupos focais e aplicação de questionários, com caráter descritivo e baseado na análise crítica dos resultados, conteúdo e estratégias de comunicação, utilizadas pela rádio em estudo. Tudo isso permitiu uma análise comparativa entre rádios comunitárias e privadas, como premissas para determinar se as mídias comunitárias têm maior ou menor impacto no desenvolvimento humano e na sustentabilidade (entendida como um andaime que inclui o social, econômico, político e cultural) a partir da transmissão de mensagens e conteúdo, em comparação com as rádios privadas.
