Plasma arc welding in the construction and repair sector of oil and gas pipelines in the country

Resumo: The general purpose of this inquiry was to analyze plasma arc welding in the construction and repair sector of oil and gas pipelines in the country. The methodological approach assumed was quantitative, descriptive and field, with the support of a documentary study. The population consisted of 12 participants who gave their consent to participate in the study. The data collection technique used was the survey and the instrument was a questionnaire with dichotomous and multiple-choice questions. Data processing was carried out using descriptive statistics. Results: 83.3% of those surveyed have extensive experience in the area of ​​industrial welding; 33.3% of those surveyed indicated that covered electrode arc welding (SMAW) is the most used in the construction of oil and gas pipelines for the transportation of hydrocarbons, coinciding with 33.3%, who responded in favor of arc welding. gas shielded metal arc (GTAW); 66.7% of those surveyed reported that they are familiar with plasma arc welding (PAW) technology; 83.3% indicated that they are willing to participate in changes in order to incorporate plasma arc welding (PAW) technology more frequently to improve processes. Conclusion: Plasma arc welding (PAW) uses the same principles as TIG welding, but both the energy density and temperatures are much higher in this process, so it is mostly used in high quality joints, with welding technology. Precision applied at the point to be welded, it can be used to weld stainless steel or titanium pipes and tubes, so its application in the construction and/or repair of oil and gas pipelines to transport hydrocarbons can be advantageous to improve productivity, competitiveness and performance.

El enfoque metodológico asumido fue el cuantitativo, de tipo descriptivo y de campo, con apoyo de un estudio documental. La población estuvo conformada por 12 participantes quienes dieren su consentimiento para participar del estudio. La técnica de recolección de datos empleada fue la encuesta y el instrumento un cuestionario de preguntas dicotómicas y de opción múltiple. El procesamiento de los datos se llevó a cabo mediante la estadística descriptiva. Resultados: 83.3%, de los encuestados tiene amplia experiencia en el área de la soldadura industrial; el 33.3 % de los encuestados indicó que la soldadura por arco con electrodo revestido (SMAW), es la más usada en la construcción de oleoductos y gasoductos para el transporte de hidrocarburos, coincidiendo con el 33.3%, que respondió a favor de la soldadura por arco metálico con protección de gas (GTAW); el 66,7% de los encuestados informó que conoce la tecnología por soldadura por arco plasma (PAW); 83.3% indicó que esta dispuesto en participar de cambios con el fin de incorporar más frecuentemente la tecnología por soldadura por arco plasma (PAW) para mejorar los procesos. Conclusión: La soldadura por arco plasma (PAW) utiliza los mismos principios que la soldadura TIG, pero tanto la densidad energética como las temperaturas son en este proceso mucho más elevadas por lo que, se usa mayormente en uniones de alta calidad, con tecnología de precisión aplicada en el punto a soldar, puede ser empleada para soldar tuberías y tubos de acero inoxidable o titanio, por lo que su aplicación en la construcción y/o reparación de oleoductos y gasoductos para transportar hidrocarburos puede resultar ventajosa para mejorar la productividad, competitividad y el rendimiento.O objetivo geral desta pesquisa foi analisar a soldagem a arco plasma no setor de construção e reparo de oleodutos e gasodutos no país. A abordagem metodológica assumida foi quantitativa, descritiva e de campo, com o apoio de um estudo documental. A população foi composta por 12 participantes que consentiram em participar do estudo. A técnica de coleta de dados utilizada foi a survey e o instrumento foi um questionário com questões dicotômicas e de múltipla escolha. O tratamento dos dados foi realizado por meio de estatística descritiva. Resultados: 83,3% dos pesquisados ​​possuem ampla experiência na área de soldagem industrial; 33,3% dos pesquisados ​​indicaram que a soldagem a arco com eletrodo revestido (SMAW) é a mais utilizada na construção de oleodutos e gasodutos para o transporte de hidrocarbonetos, coincidindo com 33,3%, que responderam a favor da soldagem a arco.
