Electrical protections in electrical substations: documentary analysis

Summary: The substations are designed for a high reliability, but all the systems are exposed to failures, in the different parts of the installation, for this reason the protections are determined for the installations of the substation, in view that the systems are exposed to failures, to precaution the good operation of the equipment that conform the substation and to prevent some risk to the human factor of any failure caused in the system. In order to design a protection system for the substations, the reliability criteria must be met in order to avoid incorrect operations in the faults, as well as the speed at which this protection system will act to clear the fault in the system, and a good sensitivity to detect any fault in the system, as would be the problems of stability in the system, after that implement the respective safety measures, which have to act in microseconds to any fault, since any anomaly in the substation triggers an abnormal condition, which depends on the magnitude and type of fault that occurs in the substation.

Para el diseño de un sistema de protección para las subestaciones se debe cumplir los criterios de confiabilidad, para evitar hacer operaciones incorrectas en las fallas, como también entra la velocidad en la que este sistema de protección va a actuar para despejar la falla en el sistema, y una buena sensibilidad para detectar cualquier falla en el sistema, como sería los problemas de estabilidad en el sistema, posterior a eso implementar las respectivas medidas de seguridad, las cuales tienen que actuar en microsegundos ante cualquier falla, ya que cualquier anomalía en la subestación desencadena una condición anormal, lo cual depende de la magnitud y el tipo de falla que se presente en la subestación.As subestações são projetadas para alta confiabilidade, mas todos os sistemas estão expostos a falhas, nas diferentes partes da instalação, por isso são determinadas as proteções para as instalações das subestações, uma vez que os sistemas estão expostos a falhas, para garantir o bom funcionamento dos equipamentos que compõem a subestação e evitar qualquer risco ao fator humano de qualquer falha causada no sistema.
