Lifestyles in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in times of the COVID-19 pandemic

Resumo: The present study called "Lifestyles in patients with Type II DM in times of Covid pandemic" aimed to analyze the lifestyles in patients with type II diabetes mellitus during the COVID 19 pandemic. The methodology was established within the quantitative approach, non-experimental cross-sectional study to identify the degree of affectation that the diabetic patient's lifestyle had during the pandemic. A survey was applied as a data collection instrument Profile of Lifestyle (PEPS-I), where the results showed that the majority of the participants frequently maintained a healthy nutrition with a percentage degree of 50.96%, 57 , 96%, stated that sometimes they undergo exercises, in the same way 47.77%, mentioned that they are frequently responsible for their health, in the same way, 44.59%, indicated that sometimes they lead to the management of stress, while 43.31% indicated that they frequently maintain interpersonal support and finally 52.23% stated that they are frequently updated with information on the chronic pathology they suffer from. Therefore, it was concluded that the lifestyle of diabetic patients is unfavorable through the variables measured in the study. However, we have evidenced in different studies analyzed throughout the investigation that health personnel carry out various promotion and prevention campaigns at the first level of public care, therefore the different factors that condition the lifestyle of health professionals should be investigated. chronic patients in order to improve health policies and provide more personalized attention to diabetic patients.

La metodología se estableció dentro del enfoque cuantitativo, no experimental de tipo transversal, para identificar el grado de afectación que tuvo el estilo de vida del paciente diabético durante la pandemia. Se aplicó una encuesta como instrumento de recolección de datos Perfil de Estilo de Vida (PEPS-I), en donde los resultados evidenciaron que la mayoría de participantes, frecuentemente mantuvieron una nutrición saludable con un grado porcentual del 50,96%, el 57,96%, adujeron que, a veces se somete a ejercicios, del mismo modo el 47,77%, mencionaron que frecuentemente son responsables de su salud, de igual manera, el 44,59%, indicaron que a veces conllevan al manejo del estrés, mientras que el 43,31%, indicaron que frecuentemente mantienen un soporte interpersonal y por último el  52,23%, mostraron que frecuentemente se actualizan con información de la patología crónica que padecen. Por lo consiguiente se concluyó que el estilo de vida de los pacientes diabéticos es desfavorable mediante las variables medidas en el estudio. Sin embargo, hemos evidenciado en diferentes estudios analizados a lo largo de la investigación que el personal de salud realiza varias campañas de promoción y prevención en el primer nivel de atención pública, por ende, se deben investigar los diferentes factores que condicionan el estilo de vida de los enfermos crónicos para así mejorar la política de salud y brindar una atención más personalizada al paciente diabético.O presente estudo denominado "Estilos de vida em pacientes com DM tipo II em tempos de pandemia de Covid" teve como objetivo analisar os estilos de vida em pacientes com diabetes mellitus tipo II durante a pandemia de COVID 19. A metodologia foi estabelecida dentro da abordagem quantitativa, não experimental cruzada estudo seccional para identificar o grau de afetação que o estilo de vida do paciente diabético teve durante a pandemia. Foi aplicado um questionário como instrumento de coleta de dados Perfil de Estilo de Vida (PEPS-I), onde os resultados mostraram que a maioria dos participantes mantinha com frequência uma alimentação saudável com um grau percentual de 50,96%, 57 , 96%, afirmaram que às vezes praticam exercícios, da mesma forma 47,77% mencionaram que frequentemente são responsáveis ​​por sua saúde, da mesma forma, 44,59%, indicaram que algumas vezes levam ao manejo do estresse, enquanto 43,31% indicaram que frequentemente mantêm suporte interpessoal e finalmente 52,23% afirmaram estar atualizados com frequência com informações sobre a patologia crônica de que sofrem. Portanto, concluiu-se que o estilo de vida dos pacientes diabéticos é desfavorável através das variáveis ​​mensuradas no estudo.
