Resumo: | The objective of this research is to design a process in which carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from the Esmeraldas thermoelectric plant (Termoesmeraldas II) are used to obtain a product of interest such as ethanol (C2H5OH) since it is a High energy value liquid used as a component of Ecopaís gasoline. This product is currently obtained through fermentation processes, however, obtaining it through industrial processes allows reducing industrial CO2 emissions through its use to generate a useful compound On May 13, Executive Decree 675 was signed, with which the sale throughout Ecuador of Ecopaís gasoline that contains a percentage of Ethanol from the fermentation of sugar cane. This mixture improves the performance of gasoline and reduces its environmental impact. The Ecopaís gasoline project consists of substituting “EXTRA” gasoline for “Ecopaís E5” gasoline; ecological gasoline that is constituted by a mixture that contains 5% bioethanol, 61% NAO (high octane gasoline) and 34% NBO (low octane gasoline) (Ordoñez, 2016). This project takes emissions from the Termoesmeraldas process as a reference as raw material to theoretically design a process that allows obtaining ethanol from the capture and use of CO2 emissions (CCU). The development of processes of this nature has the potential to contribute to the mitigation of environmental pollution and promote the circular economy. |

Dicho producto se obtiene actualmente mediante procesos de fermentación, sin embargo, su obtención mediante procesos industriales permite reducir emisiones industriales de CO2 mediante su utilización para generar un compuesto de utilidad El 13 de mayo se firmó el Decreto Ejecutivo 675, con el que se oficializó la venta en todo el Ecuador de la gasolina Ecopaís que contiene un porcentaje de Etanol proveniente de la fermentación de la caña de azúcar. Esta mezcla mejora las prestaciones de la gasolina y disminuye su impacto ambiental. El proyecto gasolina Ecopaís consiste en sustituir la gasolina “EXTRA” por la gasolina “Ecopaís E5”; gasolina ecológica que está constituida por una mezcla que contiene un 5% de bioetanol, un 61% de NAO (Naftas de alto octano) y un 34%de NBO (Naftas de bajo octano) (Ordoñez, 2016). Este proyecto toma como referencia emisiones del proceso de Termoesmeraldas como materia prima para de forma teórica diseñar un proceso que permita obtener etanol a partir de la captura y utilización de emisiones de CO2 (CCU). El desarrollo de procesos de esta naturaleza tiene potencial para contribuir a la mitigación de la contaminación ambiental y promover la economía circular.O objetivo desta pesquisa é projetar um processo no qual as emissões de dióxido de carbono (CO2) da usina termelétrica de Esmeraldas (Termoesmeraldas II) sejam usadas para obter um produto de interesse como o etanol (C2H5OH), por ser um líquido de alto valor energético utilizado como componente da gasolina da Ecopa. Este produto atualmente é obtido através de processos fermentativos, porém, obtê-lo através de processos industriais permite reduzir as emissões industriais de CO2 através de seu uso para gerar um composto útil. uma porcentagem de Etanol da fermentação da cana-de-açúcar. Essa mistura melhora o desempenho da gasolina e reduz seu impacto ambiental. O projeto gasolina da Ecopa consiste na substituição da gasolina “EXTRA” pela gasolina “Ecopaís E5”; gasolina ecológica composta por uma mistura que contém 5% de bioetanol, 61% NAO (gasolina de alta octanagem) e 34% NBO (gasolina de baixa octanagem) (Ordoñez, 2016). Este projeto toma como referência as emissões do processo Termoesmeraldas como matéria-prima para projetar teoricamente um processo que permita a obtenção de etanol a partir da captura e aproveitamento das emissões de CO2 (CCU).
