Community Concept of Practice: a look at investigations in the area of Education and Teaching in Brazil

Resumo: | The essay comes up with an excerpt related to an aspect of the doctoral research that was developed at Unesp - Rio Claro. This study has the purpose of understanding the conceptual development of Communities of Practice in the three works produced by Etienne Wenger, and also to identify the reverberation of this theoretical reference in research in the area of Education and Teaching in Brazil. For this purpose, we have accomplished a mapping of the researches in Education and Teaching following the procedures of the investigations of the type "state of art". Thus, the corpus was established by 46 investigations (20 dissertations and 26 theses) defended between the period from 2005 to 2016. These procedures have led us to identify the conceptual development of the Communities of Practice in the three works that Etienne Wenger participates as author. We have realized that after the publication of his third work - Wenger, Mcdermott and Snyder (2002) -, Wenger presents the concept of Community of Practice close to the definition emphasized in that work. In spite of that, we have found out that there is a predominance of the work Wenger (1998) in the investigations that use the theoretical assumptions of Communities of Practice in the area of Education and Teaching in Brazil; We also have noticed the predominance of four postgraduate programs of four HEIs - Unesp - Rio Claro / SP; Unicamp - Campinas / SP; PUC - São Paulo / SP; And UEL - Londrina / PR - in Brazil that develop investigations in the area of Education and Teaching with the assumptions of Communities of Practice from the perspective of Etienne Wenger in his three most important works. |

Tal excerto objetiva compreender o desenvolvimento conceitual das Comunidades de Práticas nas três obras de Etienne Wenger e identificar os reflexos desse referencial teórico nas pesquisas na área da Educação e Ensino no Brasil. Para isso, realizamos um mapeamento das pesquisas em Educação e Ensino seguindo os procedimentos das investigações do tipo “estado da arte”. Assim sendo, o corpus foi constituído por 46 pesquisas (20 dissertações e 26 teses) defendidas no período de 2005 a 2016. Esses procedimentos nos conduziram à identificação do desenvolvimento conceitual das Comunidades de Prática nas três obras que Etienne Wenger participa como autor. Notamos que após a publicação da terceira obra - Wenger, Mcdermott e Snyder (2002) -, Wenger apresenta o conceito de Comunidade de Prática próximo da definição enfatizada na referida obra.
