Statistical Education in Brazilian curriculum documents: a comparative study

Resumo: This article aims to analyze how Statistics, Probability and Combinatorics are presented in the two most recent guiding documents of the Brazilian school curriculum: the National Curricular Parameters and the Common National Curricular Base. To this end, we based ourselves on the Comparative Education methodology observing the homogeneity for being curriculum documents; the heterogeneity considering the characteristics of each document and its changes over time; and the plurality for being different documents. Positive changes in the organization related to the theme are observed, such as the anticipation to the early years of the study of statistics and probability; however, there are still discontinuities in the curriculum organization related to Statistical Education, a fact understood as an obstacle to the effectiveness of statistical literacy and the development of probabilistic and combinatory reasoning.

Para isso nos fundamentamos na metodologia de Educação Comparada observando a homogeneidade por se tratar de documentos curriculares; a heterogeneidade considerando as características de cada documento e suas mudanças ao longo do tempo; e a pluralidade por serem documentos distintos.
