Botanical learning using a teaching sequence involving the morphohistological study of the species Euphorbia tirucalli L., a toxic ornamental plant

Resumo: | This work arises from the students' immediate interest in wanting to understand why the ornamental species Euphorbia tirucalli L. is so toxic when the latex comes into contact with the skin. In this sense, a Didactic Sequence (SD) was elaborated in order to guide the work and answer the students' initial questions: search for a bibliographic reference on the species, use of the recording technique, conversation circles, use of the computer lab, experimentation involving the morphohistological study of the plant, procedural evaluation from the construction of portfolios. The strategy achieved the proposed objectives, since the students were able to understand concepts of botany and terms used in the morphohistological study, as well as answer the initial question about the toxicity |

En este sentido, se elaboró una Secuencia Didáctica (SD) con el fin de orientar el trabajo y responder a las preguntas iniciales de los estudiantes: búsqueda de una referencia bibliográfica sobre la especie, uso de la técnica de registro, círculos de conversación, uso del laboratorio de computación, experimentación que involucra el estudio morfohistológico de la planta, evaluación procedimental a partir de la construcción de portafolios. La estrategia logró los objetivos propuestos, ya que los estudiantes pudieron comprender conceptos de botánica y términos utilizados en el estudio morfohistológico, así como responder a la pregunta inicial sobre la toxicidad de las especies vegetales.Este trabalho surge do interesse imediato dos alunos em querer entender por que a espécie ornamental Euphorbia tirucalli L. é tão tóxica quando do contato do látex com a pele. Nesse sentido, foi elaborada uma Sequência Didática (SD) a fim de nortear o trabalho e responder ao questionamento inicial dos alunos: busca de referencial bibliográfico sobre a espécie, utilização de técnica de fichamento, rodas de conversa, utilização do laboratório de informática, experimentação envolvendo o estudo morfohistológico do vegetal, avaliação processual a partir da construção de portfólios.
