Resumo: Phenolic tert-butyldimethylsilyl (TBDMS) ethers can be deprotected to yield phenols in excellent yield using sodium cyanide (NaCN) as catalyst in ethanol. The deprotectation of various phenolic TBDMS ethers were found to be very convenient, fast, high yielding and chemoselective.
