Resumo: The Morro do Osso Natural Park is a Conservation Unit located in the middle of the intense urbanization of Porto Alegre, capital of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The area is rich in conserved environments and of fundamental importance for the native flora and fauna, being open to visitation. However, there are no studies dealing with the impacts that this current and past use causes on the trails. Considering this, this study aimed to generate subsidies for the elaboration of the Public Use Monitoring and Management Program of the area, with the specific objectives of characterizing the visitor profile and the visitors of its Environmental Education Trail and evaluating impact indicators of public use in the their trails. Were analyzed the Park Service records, between 2006 and 2015, and applied 125 questionnaires, between June 2015 and May 2016. he area has seen a significant increase in the number of visitors scheduled in the last decade, ranging from 693 in 2006 to 2,114 in 2015. The main category of visitors was educational institutions, predominantly of fundamental level and public. The visitors are mostly female and under 15 years old, being characterized as elementary school students. They live in Porto Alegre, but they visit the area for the first time, usually with their educational institution, the main source of publicity of the Park. Cultural and educational activities are the most practiced, evidencing the link of the actions developed in the trail with the formal Environmental Education. In addition, between June 2015 and June 2016, the determination initial monitoring and evaluation of effectiveness of use of four indicators in the Park: solid residues, trail width, visible erosion and unofficial trails. The solid residues, visible erosion and unofficial trails indicators presented low standards on both trails. The trail width was normal on the Fonte Trail and big on the Eixo Central Trail. No indicators were corrected by the number of visitors. The trail width and visible erosion indicators sented correlation with climatic factors. It was therefore concluded that possibly the public use of the Park is not generating significant impacts on its trails, so that the conservation of the environment is being maintained through the resilience capacity of the ecosystem itself. It is suggested that the impacts monitoring used in this study be maintained, being the survey presented here defined as the initial monitoring of the Monitoring and Public Use Program of the Morro do Osso Natural Park.. The visitation management proved to be a good example at the national level, given the existence of detailed historical data, an interpretative interpretive script and management actions to mitigate negative impacts. However, the need to characterize the profile and perceptions of visitors of whole Park, important to understand the potentialities and problems of the area. It is suggested that the impacts monitoring used in this study be maintained, being the survey presented here defined as the initial monitoring of the Monitoring and Public Use Program of the Morro do Osso Natural Park. Thus, these results will serve as subsidies for future actions of public use of the Park.

Thus, these results will serve as subsidies for future actions of public use of the Park.O Parque Natural Morro do Osso é uma Unidade de Conservação localizada em meio à intensa urbanização de Porto Alegre, capital do estado do Rio Grande do Sul. A área é rica em ambientes conservados e de fundamental importância para a flora e a fauna nativas, sendo aberta à visitação. Entretanto, não existem estudos que tratem dos impactos que esse uso atual e passado causa nas trilhas. Visto isso, este estudo objetivou gerar subsídios para a elaboração do Programa de Monitoramento e Gestão do Uso Público da área, tendo como objetivos específicos caracterizar o perfil da visitação e dos visitantes de sua Trilha de Educação Ambiental e avaliar indicadores de impacto do uso público nas suas trilhas. Foram analisados os registros da Administração do Parque, entre 2006 e 2015, e aplicados 125 questionários, entre junho de 2015 e maio de 2016. A área apresentou um aumento expressivo no número de visitantes agendados na última década, variando de 693 em 2006 para 2.114 em 2015. A principal categoria de visitantes foi a das instituições de ensino, predominantemente de nível fundamental e da rede pública. Os visitantes são majoritariamente do sexo feminino e têm até 15 anos, caracterizando-se como estudantes do ensino fundamental. Eles residem em Porto Alegre, mas visitam a área pela primeira vez, normalmente com sua instituição de ensino, principal fonte de divulgação do Parque. As atividades culturais e educativas são as mais praticadas, evidenciando-se o vínculo das ações desenvolvidas na trilha com a Educação Ambiental formal. Além disso, entre junho de 2015 e junho de 2016, foram realizados a determinação, o monitoramento inicial e a avaliação de efetividade de uso de quatro indicadores no Parque: resíduos sólidos, largura da trilha, erosão visível e trilhas não oficiais. Os indicadores resíduos sólidos, erosão visível e trilhas não oficiais apresentaram padrões baixos em ambas as trilhas. A largura da trilha foi normal na Trilha da Fonte e grande na Trilha do Eixo Central. Nenhum indicador apresentou correlação com a quantidade de visitantes. Os indicadores largura da trilha e erosão visível apresentaram correlação com fatores climáticos. Concluiu-se, portanto, que possivelmente o uso público do Parque não está gerando impactos significativos sobre suas trilhas, de modo que a conservação do ambiente está sendo mantida através da própria capacidade de resiliência do ecossistema. A gestão da visitação mostrou-se um bom exemplo no âmbito nacional, visto a existência de dados históricos detalhados, um roteiro interpretativo e ações de manejo para atenuação de impactos negativos. Destaca-se, entretanto, a necessidade de caracterização do perfil e das percepções dos visitantes do Parque como um todo, importantes para o entendimento das potencialidades e problemáticas da área. Sugere-se que seja mantido o monitoramento dos impactos utilizados nesse estudo, sendo o levantamento aqui apresentado definido como o monitoramento inicial do Programa de Monitoramento e Uso Público do Parque Natural Morro do Osso. Assim, estes resultados servirão de subsídios às futuras ações de uso público do Parque.Não recebi financiamentoporUniversidade Federal de São CarlosCâmpus SorocabaPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Sustentabilidade na Gestão Ambiental - PPGSGA-SoUFSCarUnidade de ConservaçãoUso PúblicoVisitaçãoIndicadores de impactoProtected AreaPublic UseVisitationImpact IndicatorsConservação na naturezaÁreas de conservação de recursos naturaisNature conservationNatural resources conservation areasCIENCIAS AGRARIAS::RECURSOS FLORESTAIS E ENGENHARIA FLORESTAL::CONSERVACAO DA NATUREZA::CONSERVACAO DE AREAS SILVESTRESOUTROSSubsídios para o Programa de Monitoramento e Gestão do Uso Público do Parque Natural Morro do Osso, Porto Alegre, RS.Subsidies for the Public Use Monitoring and Management Program of the Morro do Osso Natural Park, Porto Alegre, RS.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisOnline600600ab9c6067-8a84-47e3-9536-6992a90e99a5info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Repositório Institucional da UFSCARinstname:Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCAR)instacron:UFSCARORIGINALDissertação - Nascimento, 2018.pdfDissertação - Nascimento, 2018.pdfapplication/pdf2625541https://repositorio.ufscar.br/bitstream/ufscar/10277/1/Disserta%c3%a7%c3%a3o%20-%20Nascimento%2c%202018.pdf4efc17edb6bf2087e85e009f189b36e2MD51Carta comprovante da versão final - Nascimento, 2018.pdfCarta comprovante da versão final - Nascimento, 2018.pdfapplication/pdf301696https://repositorio.ufscar.br/bitstream/ufscar/10277/2/Carta%20comprovante%20da%20vers%c3%a3o%20final%20-%20Nascimento%2c%202018.pdf8b3241b374abe74c537a663e332ae7baMD52LICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
