Resumo: Urbanization is a crescent anthropogenic process, and it is also considered one of the major threats to natural areas and biodiversity conservation. Thus, in order to mitigate its impacts, many strategies have been developed, such as the creation of Protected Areas (PAs). However, to guarantee the effectiveness of Protected Areas in promoting biodiversity conservation, it is necessary to ensure connectivity among them. Thus, this study had as main objective evaluating the PA connectivity in an urban landscape. For this, we mapped land use and land cover using Remote Sensing images, by supervised classification. Further, we calculated landscape metrics (shape, area and near) to evaluate forest remnants structure in the landscape. For analyzing the functional connectivity among PAs, we used endemic Atlantic Forest bird species capacity of dispersion, obtained from literature review and experts consulting. Thus, impedance values for birds landscape connectivity were attributed for each land use/land cover type. The characterization of the movement of the species-focus by different types of land use/land cover was performed by the least-cost modeling between PAs, when the UCs was considered as nodes (source areas). We evaluated the land use/land cover patter of the low-cost paths (LCP) considering a 100m-buffer. Finally, functional connectivity among forest remnants was evaluated using the Graph Theory. The results show that the study area is highly urbanized, with a high forest fragmentation level composed mainly by small forest patches with irregular shapes but connected among each other. Moreover, we identified 11 forest remnants composing an ecological network, with great importance to support landscape connectivity. Those forest patches offer habitat availability, likewise PAs connectivity within the landscape. Among those patches, the largest one is the National Forest of Ipanema, and it is also the main forest patch in this landscape that supports functional connectivity and biodiversity conservation. The other patches identified as of great connectivity importance are in private properties and mainly in the riparian area of the Pirajibú River. Only two municipal PAs, of five existing in the study area, are included in the ecological network, and therefore are functionally connected. The others PAs were not included in the network, according to the conditions imposed in this work. Control and restoration actions of riparian areas, incentives for native vegetation conservation in private properties, regulation of the land use and land cover in the buffer zone of the PAs, increasing the matrix permeability, the restoration of important fragments, in addition to landscape planning with the focus on combating urban spreading are indicated actions to potentialize the PAs connectivity in urbanized landscapes.

Para minimizar esses impactos, estratégias de preservação da biodiversidade como a proteção de áreas por meio das Unidades Conservação (UC) tem sido estabelecida em todo o mundo. Porém, para a efetiva proteção da biodiversidade regional e dos serviços ecossistêmicos indispensáveis à população é necessário que essas áreas estejam conectadas na paisagem. Neste contexto, esse estudo teve como objetivo avaliar a conectividade entre UCs inseridas em uma paisagem urbanizada. Para tanto, houve o mapeamento do uso e cobertura do solo, por classificação supervisionada de imagem de sensoriamento remoto orbital. A partir da seleção dos fragmentos florestais, houve a caracterização da estrutura florestal, com a aplicação de métricas de paisagem, relacionadas a área, forma e proximidade entre remanescentes. Para a posterior avaliação da conectividade funcional entre as UCs, as classes de uso e cobertura do solo foram reclassificadas em valores de impedância à conectividade. Para isso utilizou-se como referência espécies de aves florestais endêmicas da Mata Atlântica e informações de sua capacidade de dispersão, disponíveis na literatura e por meio de consulta a especialistas. A movimentação da espécie-foco por diferentes tipos de uso e cobertura do solo foi avaliada por meio do caminho das ligações-ótimas (CLO) sendo as UCs consideradas como nós (áreas fonte). Avaliou-se o uso e cobertura do solo das CLOs traçadas na paisagem considerando uma faixa de 100 m de largura. Por fim, a conectividade funcional dos remanescentes florestais da paisagem foi avaliada por meio dos gráficos vetoriais da paisagem gerados na Teoria dos Grafos. Os resultados indicaram que a paisagem avaliada é altamente antropizada, com alta fragmentação florestal, tendo fragmentos pequenos, com formas irregulares, porém que estão próximos entre si. Identificou-se espacialmente 11 remanescentes de grande importância para a conectividade da paisagem, que formam uma rede ecológica. Eles oferecem maior disponibilidade de habitat e conectividade entre as áreas protegidas e delas com a paisagem, considerando a dispersão de aves florestais e, potencialmente, também para outras espécies. Entre eles encontra-se a Floresta Nacional de Ipanema, que além de ser o maior fragmento da paisagem, representa um dos principais remanescentes para a conectividade funcional, como área fonte de biodiversidade. Os demais remanescentes indicados como de grande importância conectiva estão localizados em áreas particulares e majoritariamente, na zona ripária do rio Pirajibú. Apenas duas UCs municipais, das cinco existentes na área de estudo, estão participam da rede ecológica, sendo, portanto, UCs funcionalmente conectadas. As demais UCs encontram-se fora da rede, de acordo com as condições impostas nesse trabalho. Ações de fiscalização e restauração de zonas ripárias, incentivos de conservação de vegetação nativa em propriedades particulares, regulação do uso e cobertura do solo nas zonas de amortecimento das UCs, ações que aumentem a permeabilidade da matriz, a de restauração de fragmentos estrategicamente localizados, além do planejamento territorial com o foco no combate ao espraiamento urbano são ações indicadas a potencialização da conexão entre as UCs em paisagens urbanizadas.Não recebi financiamentoporUniversidade Federal de São CarlosCâmpus SorocabaPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Planejamento e Uso de Recursos Renováveis - PPGPUR-SoUFSCarRedes ecológicasUnidades de ConservaçãoFloresta urbanaConservação florestalTeoria dos GrafosCaminho das ligações-ótimasMata AtlânticaEstrutura da paisagemEcological networksProtected areasUrban forestForest conservationGraph TheoryLeast-cost modelingAtlantic forestLandscape structureCIENCIAS AGRARIAS::RECURSOS FLORESTAIS E ENGENHARIA FLORESTALAvaliação da conectividade florestal em paisagem urbanaAssessment of forest connectivity in urban landscapeinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesis6 meses após a data da defesa6006003da59c04-c9ab-40ae-8977-de263adbf68dinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Repositório Institucional da UFSCARinstname:Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCAR)instacron:UFSCARORIGINALDissertacao_MarinaPannunzioRibeiro_R4.pdfDissertacao_MarinaPannunzioRibeiro_R4.pdfapplication/pdf6567050https://repositorio.ufscar.br/bitstream/ufscar/11456/1/Dissertacao_MarinaPannunzioRibeiro_R4.pdf1c4850e57179ea3dc874c6d3b46bc173MD51modelo-carta-comprovanteLOGOdosPPGs_MARINA.pdfmodelo-carta-comprovanteLOGOdosPPGs_MARINA.pdfapplication/pdf121661https://repositorio.ufscar.br/bitstream/ufscar/11456/2/modelo-carta-comprovanteLOGOdosPPGs_MARINA.pdf82de4347893745a635eaf489e699c96cMD52LICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
