Resumo: | The study of climate has gained importance in discussions about environmental changesbeing one of environmental aspects most affected by the anthropic actions. This paper aims to describe the characteristics of the atmospheric elements in Sorocaba - SP and São Miguel Arcanjo - SP, during the years 2010 and 2011. For this purpose was selected three episodes a fall in temperature, and two a sharp decrease in air humidity. Have been used daily data of maximum, average and minimum air temperature, relative air humidity, wind speed and precipitation volume of conventional and automatic weather stations of the National Institute of Meteorology (INMET). The data analysis have been made from the rhythmic methodology developed by Monteiro (1971). Beyond the elaboration of the graphics synoptic maps were used to identify the field of atmospheric pressure and active systems to 12:00 GMT on the daily scale. Six didactic collections were also analyzed to identify as climate is studied in secondary school. Has been possible to observe variations on the elements between country and city, especially at medium and minimum temperatures and humidity, which is always superior in rural areas, except when the humidity fell abruptly. Already in didactic collections, it has been observed these are still working with the most traditional methodology considering the static notion of climate. |

Este trabalho tem por objetivo descrever as características dos elementos atmosféricos em Sorocaba - SP e São Miguel Arcanjo - SP, durante os anos de 2010 e 2011. Para este fim foram selecionados três episódios: um de queda na temperatura, e dois de queda brusca na umidade do ar. Foram utilizados dados diários de temperatura máxima, média e mínima do ar, umidade relativa do ar, velocidade do vento e volume de precipitação de estações meteorológicas convencional e automática do Instituto Nacional de Meteorologia (INMET). As analises dos dados foram feitas a partir da metodologia rítmica, desenvolvida por Monteiro (1971). Além da elaboração de gráficos foram utilizadas cartas sinóticas para identificar o campo de pressão atmosférica e os sistemas atuantes às 12:00 GMT em escala diária. Também foram analisadas seis coleções didáticas para identificar como o clima é estudado no ensino médio. Foi possível observar variações nos elementos entre o campo e a cidade, principalmente nas temperaturas médias e mínimas e na umidade do ar, sendo esta sempre superior na área rural, exceto quando a umidade caiu de forma brusca.
