Resumo: In Brazil, in particular, civil construction is a traditional industry that, despite the increasingly frequent technological and managerial innovations, the vast majority of work is still carried out manually. The association of functions that require the use of intense, repetitive physical efforts, improvised postures and body movements with inadequate conditions and low qualification can be harmful and cause damage to the health of workers. That said, the main objective of this work, which consists of evaluating the ergonomic conditions associated with the execution of the screed service, was built within this context from the identification of a knowledge gap and the need to disseminate the importance and impact of carrying out ergonomic analysis that can positively reflect on the worker's life. Three ergonomics assessment tools were used to carry out the analysis and obtain a diagnosis, which pointed out the ergonomic risks that the worker responsible for carrying out the screed was exposed, identifying the most critical steps and activities of this service. Such tools were: MET (The Standard Metabolic Equivalent), in which the energy expenditure was evaluated, REBA (Rapid Entire Body Assessment), in which the postures of the whole body in the use of activities were evaluated, and EWA (Ergonomic Workplace Analysis), in which the “Lifting of Loads” (physical factor), “Accident Risk” (organizational factor) and “Communication between Workers and Personal Contacts” (cognitive factor) were evaluated. In order to obtain this diagnosis, direct observations, interviews and photographic records, including filming, of workers and workstations for data collection were carried out, which were subsequently processed based on the listed ergonomic assessment tools. Among the results obtained with the realization of the case studies, the following stand out: "Materials Supply" and "Waste Removal" tasks predominating as heavy work (MET), a higher percentage of very high risk postures in the "Screed Layer Production” task, mainly during the activities of “smooth” and “rub” (REBA), and the “Mortar Production” task and “Load Lifting” factor presenting the biggest numbers of negative classifications (EWA). It is safe to affirm that the performance of the screed service presents evident ergonomic risks, especially those related to the postures required. This research proved to be contributory for notifying such risks, proposing improvements and highlighting the ergonomics associated with civil construction.

Among the results obtained with the realization of the case studies, the following stand out: "Materials Supply" and "Waste Removal" tasks predominating as heavy work (MET), a higher percentage of very high risk postures in the "Screed Layer Production” task, mainly during the activities of “smooth” and “rub” (REBA), and the “Mortar Production” task and “Load Lifting” factor presenting the biggest numbers of negative classifications (EWA). It is safe to affirm that the performance of the screed service presents evident ergonomic risks, especially those related to the postures required. This research proved to be contributory for notifying such risks, proposing improvements and highlighting the ergonomics associated with civil construction.No Brasil, especialmente, a construção civil é uma indústria tradicional que, apesar das inovações tecnológicas e gerenciais cada vez mais frequentes, a grande maioria dos trabalhos ainda é realizada manualmente. A associação de funções que exigem o emprego de esforços físicos intensos, repetitivos, posturas e movimentos corporais improvisados com condições inadequadas dos postos de trabalho e com a baixa instrução pode ser prejudicial e trazer danos à saúde dos trabalhadores. Assim, o objetivo principal deste trabalho, que consiste em avaliar as condições ergonômicas associadas a execução do serviço de contrapiso, foi construído dentro de tal contexto a partir da identificação de uma lacuna do conhecimento e da necessidade de difundir a importância e o impacto da realização de análises ergonômicas que possam refletir positivamente na vida do trabalhador. Três ferramentas de avaliação ergonômica foram utilizadas para a realização da análise e obtenção de um diagnóstico, que apontou os riscos ergonômicos que o trabalhador responsável pela execução do contrapiso estava exposto, identificando as atividades mais críticas deste serviço. Tais ferramentas foram: MET (The Standard Metabolic Equivalent), em que se avaliou o dispêndio energético, REBA (Rapid Entire Body Assessment), em que se avaliou as posturas do corpo inteiro no emprego das atividades, e EWA (Ergonomic Workplace Analysis), em que se avaliou o “Levantamento de Cargas” (fator físico), “Risco de Acidente” (fator organizacional) e “Comunicação entre Trabalhadores e Contatos Pessoais” (fator cognitivo). Para a obtenção deste diagnóstico, foram realizadas observações diretas, entrevistas e registros fotográficos, incluindo filmagens, dos trabalhadores e dos postos de trabalho para a coleta de dados, posteriormente processados com base nas ferramentas sobre avaliação ergonômica listadas. Dentre os resultados obtidos com a realização dos estudos de caso, destacaram-se: as tarefas de “Abastecimento de Materiais” e “Remoção dos Resíduos” predominando como trabalho pesado (MET), maior porcentagem de posturas de risco muito alto na tarefa de “Execução da Camada de Contrapiso”, principalmente durante as atividades de “sarrafear” e “desempenar” (REBA), e a tarefa de “Preparação da Argamassa”, juntamente com o fator “Levantamento de Cargas”, apresentando os maiores números de classificações negativas (EWA). É seguro afirmar que a execução do serviço de contrapiso apresenta riscos ergonômicos, principalmente àqueles relativos as posturas demandadas para sua realização.
