Formação do Engenheiro Químico e a indústria 4.0 - influência das atividades extracurriculares

Resumo: | The expression industry 4.0 refers to the named fourth industrial revolution. This revolution is about the emergence of new technologies and their incorporation into the industrial sector and its production processes, with the objective of making improvements in these processes, obtaining greater productivity and other possible benefits. Among the main technologies that are part of this revolution, we can mention, as an example, cloud computing, Big Data, additive manufacturing, internet of things, among others. As Chemical Engineering is an area that is closely related to industrial processes, it is strongly impacted by the revolution in question. As a result, professionals working in this area are faced with new concepts and new learning demands. Thereby, this text was based on a research to understand how extracurricular activities are related to the training of the chemical engineer in the context of industry 4.0. For this, a form was used that allowed contacting graduates and undergraduates who were or are still part of these activities and collect information. From this, the view of the graduates about the influence of student entities in the formation of chemical engineering and the view of undergraduate students participating in these entities about how they see the subject was obtained. Therefore, it was possible to observe the great potential of these student groups, linked to disciplines, in approaching topics related to industry 4.0 and contributing to the formation of chemical engineers in these new times. |

Essa revolução trata do surgimento de novas tecnologias e da incorporação dessas ao setor industrial e seus processos de produção, com o objetivo de promover melhorias nesses processos, obtendo maior produtividade além de outros possíveis benefícios. Dentre as principais tecnologias que fazem parte dessa revolução, pode-se citar como exemplo a computação em nuvem, Big Data, manufatura aditiva, internet das coisas, entre outras. Sendo a Engenharia Química uma formação que está intimamente relacionada com os processos industriais, ela é fortemente impactada pela revolução em questão. Como consequência disso, o profissional atuante nessa área depara-se com novos conceitos e novas demandas de aprendizado. Dessa forma, o trabalho de graduação baseou-se em uma pesquisa realizada para entender como as atividades extracurriculares relacionam-se com a formação do engenheiro químico no contexto da indústria 4.0. Para isso, foi utilizado um formulário que permitisse entrar em contato com egressos e graduandos que fizeram ou ainda fazem parte dessas atividades e coletar informações. A partir disso, foi obtida a visão dos egressos sobre a influência das entidades estudantis na formação do engenheiro químico no contexto em questão e a visão dos graduandos participantes dessas entidades a respeito de como eles enxergam o tema.
