Resumo: This study aims to correlate the sensory processing and the engagement in family routines of typically developing children enrolled in early childhood education at the age of 3, from the perspective of parents and guardians. With the evolution of thought related to child development, it is known that today development is a variable process that depends on interaction. Based on this knowledge, the child, the caregiver, and the physical and social environment can contribute substantially and interdependently to the child's development and adaptations. In order to help the family member to improve the child's outcomes, this study focuses on the family's role in assessing needs and identifying priorities for possible intervention. Based on the assumption that the complex process of assimilation and learning takes place at various levels of the nervous system, and that sensory information is used as nourishment so that it can develop and learning can take place, we identified possible correlations between sensory processing and engagement in the child's family routines. Data collection was done by parents filling out the two questionnaires, under the supervision of the researcher, during school meetings, and by the family members filling them out at home. SPM- p was a questionnaire to evaluate the sensorial profile, and MEISR was a questionnaire to evaluate engagement, independence, and social relationship. The analysis is by tabulating the data according to the categories of each questionnaire, transformation into graphs and statistical correlation by a professional in the area. The results presented show that there is a correlation between the data and the literature, since 4 routines presented more than one correlation between the variables, demonstrating that there is an interference of sensory processing in the engagement of children. Thus, the study points to the importance of investment on the routines, on the families, and new evaluation instruments to be used in Brazil.

Thus, the study points to the importance of investment on the routines, on the families, and new evaluation instruments to be used in Brazil.O presente estudo tem como objetivo correlacionar o processamento sensorial e o engajamento em rotinas familiares de crianças em desenvolvimento típico, matriculadas no ensino infantil integral com idade de 3 anos, a partir da visão de pais e responsáveis.
