Educação financeira nas escolas: uma nova fase na vida financeira a partir de escolhas conscientes

Resumo: The present study aims to portray the results of a research conducted on the importance of Financial Education in Basic Education according to the normative guidelines of the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC). Financial Education has the particularity of being an intrinsic subject to the lives of all individuals, deserving a prominent place when integrated into Basic Education. This enables the formation of future citizens who are consumers, producers of goods and services, and conscious of their social responsibility and contribution to the sustainable development of our planet. The study recalls a period when the country experienced a major economic crisis and financial instability due to hyperinflation. This event generated mistrust and uncertainty as daily salaries were losing their purchasing power. Subsequently, a theoretical foundation was sought to provide an understanding of the origin of money, given its importance in meeting material needs, ensuring economic stability, and being used wisely, thus underpinning our study. Knowledge of Financial Mathematics is also necessary for conducting analyses and simulations that facilitate certain choices and decision-making. The BNCC establishes the rules governing the New High School and includes Financial Education in its proposal as a cross-cutting theme that is interconnected with other subjects. The study on conscious consumption was conducted to demonstrate the outcome of sound Financial Education, which directly contributes to sustainability and social and economic equilibrium. Finally, a qualitative and exploratory research was carried out involving high school students, with the active participation of 30 students. Data was collected through the administration of a questionnaire containing questions related to Financial Education. The analysis and interpretation of the data are described in this work.

A Educação Financeira tem a particularidade de ser um assunto intrínseco à vida de todas as pessoas, merecendo um lugar de destaque ao ser integrado à Educação Básica. Isso possibilita a formação de cidadãos do futuro que são consumidores, produtores de bens e serviços, e conscientes de sua responsabilidade social e contribuição para o desenvolvimento sustentável de nosso planeta. O trabalho traz à memória uma abordagem da época que o país passou por uma grande crise econômica e instabilidade financeira, devido a hiperinflação. Este fato gerou muitas desconfianças e incertezas, pois os salários perdiam diariamente o poder de compra. Na sequência, buscou-se uma base teórica que proporcionasse um entendimento sobre a origem do dinheiro, devido à sua importância para suprir as necessidades materiais, garantir estabilidade econômica e ser utilizado com sabedoria, fundamentando assim nosso estudo. O conhecimento sobre Matemática Financeira também se faz necessário para se fazer algumas análises e simulações que facilitam algumas escolhas e tomadas de decisões. A BNCC estabelece as normas que regem o Novo Ensino Médio e traz na sua proposta a Educação Financeira como tema transversal que tem interligação com outras disciplinas. O estudo sobre o consumo consciente foi realizado por demonstrar o resultado de uma boa Educação Financeira que contribui diretamente com a sustentabilidade, o equilíbrio social e econômico. Por fim, foi realizada uma pesquisa com abordagem qualitativa e de caráter exploratório com os de estudantes do Ensino Médio, da qual participaram de forma ativa 30 alunos. Os dados foram coletados pela aplicação de um questionário organizado com perguntas relacionadas à Educação Financeira.
