Resumo: Infiltration wells are BMP that occupy small urban area in order to minimize the effects of urbanization and soil sealing. The BMP reduces the frequency of flooding in urban areas. The present study aims to evaluate the behavior of two infiltration wells. One (Poço1- SC) was constructed with concrete rings get laterally together with the soil without the use of lateral holes and with a granular layer at the bottom of the BMP. The other (Poço2-GHidro) comprises the use of lateral concrete rings, a granular lateral and external layer external to improve the distribution of water, a filter of geotextile in the cover, and additional filters at the bottom and at the lateral wall between the gravel and soil. The experimental program involves the soil characterization, monitoring and modeling of real and simulated rainfall events imposed two systems. In addition, physical clogging tests were conducted in order to provide the understanding of the behavior of the geotextile filter applied in infiltration wells in order to estimate the service life. After two years, significant differences between the hydrological behaviors of the two infiltration wells were not identified and significant indication of clogging, was not observed. The calibration of the Puls model applied in modeling was employed using constant and variable hydraulic conductivity (K) values. In both wells the model showed more satisfactory results when variable K is used. This was observed for both the real and simulated events. In physical clogging tests, it was concluded that the solids particle distribution presents in rainwater runoff has a significant effect in the behavior of geotextile filter. The estimated average of service life of the filter in the Poço2- GHidro, at the conditions in which it is imposed, varies from 31 to 71 years, which depends on the type of soil in rainfall water runoff.
