Resumo: | This dissertation describes and analyses the educational processes from the Trovadores do Vale Choir, an ensemble from the town of Araçuaí, in the Jequitinhonha Valley, Minas Gerais State, Brazil. Trovadores do Vale Choir is a social activity participated in by women and men from the Araçuaí community. The choir has been active for the last forty-eight years, its repertoire consists of folk songs, such as work songs, religious hymns, among other songs and dances that were collected in daily social activities of the Jequitinhonha Valley. Originally, our research questions were stimulated from the practices and experiences from both the colonial and modern legacies, from the Jequitinhonha Valley cultural context. We understand that educational processes can be created in social praxis, and the production of academic knowledge should account for different epistemologies, new narratives, and comprehensive ways of listening and seeing that were historically neglected in this colonial context of knowledge. Therefore, this dissertation uses the work authors like Enrique Dussel, Paulo Freire, Boaventura de Sousa Santos, and Aníbal Quijano as theoretical framework; we believe that the democratization of these social narratives is fundamental to proposals linked to education and specifically to education and music, with the idea of education as every historical process of the human being acting and changing the world. Thus, the methodology of the study was constructed in dialogue with the subjects of the study, in a conception of science that emphasizes the scientific investigation to the social commitment. The data was collected mostly between the years of 2015 and 2016 and was configured by the use of field notes, interviews, and analysis of documents. Through the triangulation of the obtained data, thematic categories appeared that were configured as follows: 1) Songs and verses from the Trovadores do Vale community: category that pointed us to educational processes linked to the coexistence of the members of the choir as a community, and also educational processes based on the songs and verses that are part of the choral repertoire; 2) The creation of the choir: a category that made it possible to verify educational processes at the moment when the choir is born as an event, the result of a series of articulations. We understand that choir is born of educational processes linked to such articulations, however when it starts, it is produced the educational processes also for the same articulations; 3) History, resistance and fecundity: a category that pointed to educational processes linked to the history of the choir throughout its 48 years, to its resistance throughout this history and to its fecundity, that is, influence and legacy that contributed to the emergence of other practices such as choirs and artistic groups in the Jequitinhonha Valley. In this sense, we conclude that Trovadores do Vale Choir produced educational processes for Vale itself and abroad. Among the educational processes, we highlight: coexistence, solidarity, democratic participation, overcoming of problems daily life, maintenance of culture, awareness, the song Ser Mais, resistance and re-rooting. |

El Coral Trovadores del Valle es una práctica social en la que participan mujeres y hombres de la propia comunidad de Araçuaí. El coral está en actividad hace cuarenta y ocho años, con un repertorio que consiste en cantigas de rueda, cantos religiosos y otras músicas y danzas recogidas de prácticas cotidianas del Valle del Jequitinhona. Partimos de la problemática de que el legado colonial y moderno marginalizó saberes y prácticas, incluso en el contexto del Valle del Jequitinhonha. Entendemos también que de toda práctica social emergen procesos educativos y que la producción del conocimiento académico debe buscar otras epistemologías, nuevas narrativas y nuevas formas de mirar y oír que históricamente fueron negadas en ese cuadro de colonialidad del saber. A partir del marco teórico de autores como Enrique Dussel, Paulo Freire, Boaventura de Sousa Santos y Aníbal Quijano, creemos que la democratización de tales narrativas es fundamental para propuestas vinculadas a la educación y específicamente a la interfaz "educación y música", entendiendo educación como todo proceso histórico del ser humano, de actuación y transformación del mundo. De esta forma, se realizó una investigación de naturaleza cualitativa en la perspectiva de la investigación participante, cuya metodología se fue construyendo en diálogo con los sujetos de la investigación, en una concepción de ciencia que articula la investigación científica al compromiso social. La recogida de datos fue realizada mayoritariamente entre los años de 2015 y 2016 y se configuró por la utilización de diarios de campo, entrevistas y documentos para análisis. A través de la triangulación de los datos, surgieron categorías temáticas que se configuraron de la siguiente forma: 1) Músicas y versos en la comunidad Trovadores del Valle: categoría que nos apuntó procesos educativos vinculados a la convivencia de los integrantes del Coral como una comunidad y también procesos educativos a partir de las canciones y versos que forman parte del repertorio del Coral; 2) La eventualización de un Coral: categoría que posibilitó verificar procesos educativos en el momento en que el Coral nace como evento, fruto de una serie de articulaciones. Entendemos que el Coral surge de procesos educativos vinculados a tales articulaciones, pero al nacer, produce procesos educativos también para las mismas articulaciones; 3) Historia, resistencia y fecundidad: categoría que apuntó procesos educativos vinculados a la historia del Coral a lo largo de sus 48 años, a su resistencia durante toda esta historia, ya su fecundidad, o sea, influencia y legado que contribuyó con el surgimiento de otras prácticas como corales y grupos artísticos en el Valle del Jequitinhonha. En ese sentido, defendemos que el Coral Trovadores del Valle produce procesos educativos para el propio Valle, pero también fuera de él. Entre los procesos educativos, destacamos: la convivencia, solidaridad, participación democrática, superación de problemas ante la vida, mantenimiento a la cultura, concientización, canto para Ser Más, resistencia y reenraizamiento.A presente tese teve como objetivo descrever e analisar processos educativos desencadeados a partir do Coral Trovadores do Vale, situado na cidade de Araçuaí, Vale do Jequitinhonha, MG. O Coral Trovadores do Vale é uma prática social em que participam mulheres e homens da própria comunidade de Araçuaí. Ele está em atividade há 48 anos, com um repertório que percorre cantos de trabalho, cantos de roda, cantos religiosos, dentre outras músicas e danças recolhidas de práticas cotidianas do Vale do Jequitinhonha. Partimos da problemática de que o legado colonial e moderno marginalizou saberes e práticas, inclusive no contexto do Vale do Jequitinhonha. Entendemos também que de toda prática social emergem processos educativos e que a produção do conhecimento acadêmico deve buscar por outras epistemologias, por novas narrativas, formas de olhar e ouvir que historicamente foram negadas nesse quadro de colonialidade do saber. Assim, tendo como arcabouço teórico autores como Enrique Dussel, Paulo Freire, Boaventura de Sousa Santos e Aníbal Quijano, acreditamos que a democratização de tais narrativas é fundamental para propostas vinculadas à educação e especificamente à interface educação e música, tendo como concepção de educação todo processo histórico do ser humano de atuação e transformação do mundo. Dessa forma, foi realizada uma pesquisa de natureza qualitativa na perspectiva da pesquisa participante, cuja metodologia e percurso metodológico foi se construindo em diálogo com os sujeitos da pesquisa, numa concepção de ciência que articula a investigação científica ao compromisso social. A coleta de dados foi realizada majoritariamente entre os anos de 2015 e 2016 e configurou-se pela utilização de diários de campo, entrevistas e documentos para análise. Por meio da triangulação dos dados obtidos, surgiram categorias temáticas que se configuraram da seguinte forma: 1) Músicas e versos na comunidade Trovadores do Vale: categoria que nos apontou processos educativos vinculados à convivência dos integrantes do Coral enquanto uma comunidade e também processos educativos a partir das músicas e versos que fazem parte do repertório do Coral; 2) A eventualização de um Coral: categoria que possibilitou verificar processos educativos no momento em que o Coral nasce enquanto evento, fruto de uma série de articulações. Entendemos que o Coral nasce de processos educativos vinculados a tais articulações, mas, ao nascer, produz processos educativos também para as mesmas articulações; 3) História, resistência e fecundidade: categoria que apontou processos educativos atrelados à história do Coral ao longo de seus 48 anos, à sua resistência durante toda essa história e à sua fecundidade, ou seja, influência e legado que contribuíram com o surgimento de outras práticas como corais e grupos artísticos no Vale do Jequitinhonha. Nesse sentido, defendemos que o Coral Trovadores do Vale produz processos educativos para o próprio Vale, mas também para fora dele. This dissertation describes and analyses the educational processes from the Trovadores do Vale Choir, an ensemble from the town of Araçuaí, in the Jequitinhonha Valley, Minas Gerais State, Brazil. Trovadores do Vale Choir is a social activity participated in by women and men from the Araçuaí community. The choir has been active for the last forty-eight years, its repertoire consists of folk songs, such as work songs, religious hymns, among other songs and dances that were collected in daily social activities of the Jequitinhonha Valley. Originally, our research questions were stimulated from the practices and experiences from both the colonial and modern legacies, from the Jequitinhonha Valley cultural context. We understand that educational processes can be created in social praxis, and the production of academic knowledge should account for different epistemologies, new narratives, and comprehensive ways of listening and seeing that were historically neglected in this colonial context of knowledge. Therefore, this dissertation uses the work authors like Enrique Dussel, Paulo Freire, Boaventura de Sousa Santos, and Aníbal Quijano as theoretical framework; we believe that the democratization of these social narratives is fundamental to proposals linked to education and specifically to education and music, with the idea of education as every historical process of the human being acting and changing the world. Thus, the methodology of the study was constructed in dialogue with the subjects of the study, in a conception of science that emphasizes the scientific investigation to the social commitment. The data was collected mostly between the years of 2015 and 2016 and was configured by the use of field notes, interviews, and analysis of documents. Through the triangulation of the obtained data, thematic categories appeared that were configured as follows: 1) Songs and verses from the Trovadores do Vale community: category that pointed us to educational processes linked to the coexistence of the members of the choir as a community, and also educational processes based on the songs and verses that are part of the choral repertoire; 2) The creation of the choir: a category that made it possible to verify educational processes at the moment when the choir is born as an event, the result of a series of articulations. We understand that choir is born of educational processes linked to such articulations, however when it starts, it is produced the educational processes also for the same articulations; 3) History, resistance and fecundity: a category that pointed to educational processes linked to the history of the choir throughout its 48 years, to its resistance throughout this history and to its fecundity, that is, influence and legacy that contributed to the emergence of other practices such as choirs and artistic groups in the Jequitinhonha Valley. In this sense, we conclude that Trovadores do Vale Choir produced educational processes for Vale itself and abroad. Among the educational processes, we highlight: coexistence, solidarity, democratic participation, overcoming of problems daily life, maintenance of culture, awareness, the song Ser Mais, resistance and re-rooting. |
