Resumo: | From a Parametrized Post-Newtonian (PNP) perspective we attempt to partially answer the question, by studying some models, of whether or not the new degrees of freedom, represented by the PNP potentials, can lead to significant modifications in the dynamics of galaxies in the direction of rendering dark matter obsolete. In the PNP, several parameters classify each theory and their possible values are tightly constrained mainly due to solar system experiments [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]. Such restrictions renders the modifications of gravitational effects, with respect to General Relativity, to be insignificant, making attempts to find alternative metrical theories rather fruitless. In recent years a new kind of metric theories have arisen to popularity and are characterized by "Screening" mechanisms [ 4 ]. These lead to the possibility of modifications in larger scales than the solar system while retaining the success of GR in the latter, allowing for violations of the constraints of the Post-Newtonian parameters. With this new paradigm we consider two kinds of solutions: (i) When no matter field is present, or in other words, vacuum; (ii) or a Politropic distribution of matter. For (i) we find that the corrections don’t lead to the needed modifications as required to be an alternative to dark matter. In (ii) for most choices of the parameters (when changing γ , β , ξ , α 3 , ζ j , with j = 1 , 2, from their values in GR) the need for dark matter is unavoidable, in order to find a flat rotation curve. It’s only for theories in which ζ 3 > 0 that some resemblance of flat rotation curves is found. The latter suggests, at least for the models considered, that these are the only theories capable of replacing dark matter as a possible explanation for the dynamics of galaxies. |

The latter suggests, at least for the models considered, that these are the only theories capable of replacing dark matter as a possible explanation for the dynamics of galaxies.De um ponto de vista Pós-Newtoniano Parametrizado (PNP) tentamos responder parcial- mente se os novos graus de liberdade, representados pelos potenciais da PNP, podem levar a modificações significantes na dinâmica de galáxias na direção de tornar desnecessário a su- posição da existência de matéria escura. Na PNP, vários parâmetros classificam cada teoria e seus possíveis valores são fortemente limitados principalmente devido a experimentos no sistema solar [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]. Tais restrições tornam desvios dos efeitos gravitacionais, com relação a Relatividade Geral, insignificantes, portanto tentativas de formular teorias alternativas se tornam improdutivas. Recentemente um conjunto de teorias tem conquistado popularidade por serem caracterizados por mecanismo de "Screening" [ 4 ]. Estas tem a propriedade de permitir modificações em escalas maiores que o sistema solar, mas mantendo o sucesso da Relatividade Geral nas redondezas do sistema solar. Ou seja, este conjunto de teorias permite que modificações violem as restrições dos parâmetros Pós-Newtonianos. Com este novo paradigma consideramos dois tipos de soluções na PNP: (I) Quando não há matéria presente, ou em outras palavras no vácuo; (II) ou quando temos uma distribuição de matéria Politrópica. Em (I) encontramos que nenhuma das correções, devido aos potências Pós-Newtonianos, levam a modificações suficientes para emularmos matéria escura por meio de efeitos puramente gravitacionais. Em (II) para qualquer escolha dos parâmetros Pós-Newtonianos (quando mudamos γ , β , ξ , α 3 ou/e ζ j , com j = 1 , 2, de seus valores em Relatividade Geral) a necessidade de matéria escura é inevitável, para a existência de curvas de rotação planas. Apenas para teorias nas quais ζ 3 > 0 que encontramos curvas que se assemelham a curvas planas. Sugerindo, pelo menos para os modelos em consideração, que apenas teorias com ζ 3 > 0 tem a capacidade de explicar a dinâmica de galáxias sem a necessidade de supormos um conteúdo escuro.Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq)CNPq: 132389/2017-7porUniversidade Federal de São CarlosCâmpus São CarlosPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Física - PPGFUFSCarGravitaçãoRelatividade geralTeorias métricasGaláxiasGravitationGeneral relativityMetric theoriesGalaxiesCIENCIAS EXATAS E DA TERRA::ASTRONOMIA::ASTROFISICA EXTRAGALACTICA::GALAXIASCIENCIAS EXATAS E DA TERRA::FISICA::FISICA GERAL::FISICA ESTATISTICA E TERMODINAMICACIENCIAS EXATAS E DA TERRA::FISICA::FISICA GERAL::METODOS MATEMATICOS DA FISICACIENCIAS EXATAS E DA TERRA::FISICA::FISICA GERAL::RELATIVIDADE E GRAVITACAOCurvas de rotação galácticas em teorias métricas da gravitaçãoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisOnlineinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Repositório Institucional da UFSCARinstname:Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCAR)instacron:UFSCARORIGINALCurvas_de_Rotação_Galácticas_em_Teorias_Métricas_da_Gravitação.pdfCurvas_de_Rotação_Galácticas_em_Teorias_Métricas_da_Gravitação.pdfDissertaçãoapplication/pdf2320375https://{{ getenv "DSPACE_HOST" "repositorio.ufscar.br" }}/bitstream/ufscar/11503/3/Curvas_de_Rota%c3%a7%c3%a3o_Gal%c3%a1cticas_em_Teorias_M%c3%a9tricas_da_Gravita%c3%a7%c3%a3o.pdfba80f02ff4a46f1ced9709a4bbec5a01MD53LICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
